Are any of your desserts GLUTEN FREE?....."YES" Several of our desserts are gluten free but they are manufactured in a bakery that uses glutens and nuts in some of their other products.
The following products are *ARE* GLUTEN FREE (click here to go to our desserts) 1. Chocolate Eternity 2. Pumpkin Pecan Grand Marnier 3. Cafe Diablo 4. Royal Raspberry 5. Mocha Mint 6. Rocky Road 7. Banana Split 8. Turtle Silk 9. Caramel Mt. Madness
1. Any of our Silk Desserts can be prepared for you "Gluten Free" just by changing the crusts on most of them. Our desserts with cake of course could be made using rice flour but we would require a minimum of 3 weeks lead to manufacture.
2. Do you have any desserts for DIABETICS? Our white chocolate based desserts do not have any sugar added other than the sugar used to manufacture the white chocolate itself.
As for our dark chocolate silk, the sugar is only 20% of the overall dessert. If the chocolate dessert includes ganache, we use a semi sweet chocolate and we do NOT add any sugar to our ganache recipe white or dark.
See the testimonial by Shirley MacDowell of Palm Springs, CA., she is a diabetic.
3. How long can I keep my dessert in the refrigerator after it has been thawed? We suggest only keeping it in the refrigerator for no more than 7 days but it can be re-frozen 3 times without compromising the quality. Many of our customers like to thaw their desserts, pre-slice them and place them back in the freezer therefore enabling them to take out one slice at a time.
4. Can I re-freeze my dessert once it has been thawed....YES! You can re-freeze your dessert 3 times without compromising the quality of the dessert unless it has a cake layer. If the dessert has a cake layer, you will only want to re-freeze one more time. DO NOT throw away your dessert box in which it was shipped. This box will greatly increase the shelf life of the product. You should be able to keep your dessert for a minimum of 3 MONTHS.
5. What is the BEST way to re-freeze my dessert? Be sure to save the box your dessert was shipped in as this will ensure against freezer burn and those unusual tastes that sometimes invade your freezer and then transfer to your frozen food.
6. How should I wrap my dessert for re-freezing? You should place the remaining dessert in the freezer just overnight and when completely frozen, wrap your dessert in plastic wrap then place the dessert back in the shipping box with the center cut out. Place the styro top back on the top of the dessert, close the top of the box and your dessert should be good for at least 3 months ... OH MY....will it really last that long...better watch out for midnight raiders!
7. NUTS and NUT ALLERGIES: Our desserts are prepared in a kitchen that USES NUTS in other products.
8. Are there Allergens in this product.....YES! There is dairy in all of our products: eggs, butter and cream in everything we manufacture. We use a pasteurized egg in our Silk to insure against Salmonella. The pasteurized egg is heated to 161 degrees for 3 minutes to kill any and all Salmonella in our egg products and is produced by a local company, National Food Corp. in Everett, WA.
9. Can I place an order with a FUTURE SHIP DATE?..........YES YOU May! Many of our customers have asked if they can place an order and have it shipped at a later date? The answer is YES.
